This is a glimpse of a jewelry collection I led from design through product development, my undergraduate design project for a high jewelry brand.
It was inspired by the Tyndall effect, the way light scatters when it hits tiny particles, creating sunbeams through clouds or trees. I translated that into striped, inlaid designs set with diamonds and sapphires and using ceramic. The collection also introduced ceramics to the brand, a new material for them, which brought these designs to a more accessible price point without moving away from real, high-end stones.
The collection won the award for Most Commercially Viable Design Intervention.
I pull out my phone for anything that makes me stare a second longer, some play of light, color, or a pattern I wasn't expecting in the everyday. These are some of my favorites 📷
